About

Yannis Papanastasopoulos is an Athens-born filmmaker and director whose work spans music videos, documentaries, and commercials. He trained at the ARRI Academy in Munich and cut his teeth on the sets of Nu Boyana Film Studios before returning to the streets and rooftops of Athens, where he finds most of his stories.

He co-leads Sunlight Productions alongside DoP Amalia Kovaiou, a production house built on craft, collaboration, and caring deeply about both the image and the story behind it.
