About the films
Today we are studying ancient texts important to humanity that have traveled and been preserved throughout the centuries. How did the Homeric Epics, the texts of the great tragedies, the historical work of Herodotus, the poems of Hesiod, or later great religious or scientific texts reach our schools and libraries? What was the "writing material" on which they recorded their thoughts, centuries before paper and printing? How was the tradition of the great texts copied, preserved and spread over the years and which specialties and sciences were created for its sake?
